The free demo build
- A demo rebuild of your website is free and carries no obligation. It is shown on a private preview link.
- Until you accept a quote and pay, the demo, its design and its code remain the property of Canvas & Byte and may not be copied, published or handed to another developer.
- Your own words, photos, logo and brand remain yours at all times.
Quotes and payment
- Every job is quoted in writing after the demo, with what is included spelled out.
- Payment terms are on the quote. The site goes live on your domain once the build is paid for.
- Changes outside the quoted scope are quoted separately before work starts.
Ownership and licence
- Once paid, you have a licence to use the website on your domain for your business, for as long as you like. The design and code remain the property of Canvas & Byte.
- If you want to move the site to another host or developer, we'll transfer full ownership of the design and code for the buyout fee set out in your quote.
- Your domain name, Google accounts and other logins stay in your name. We never register them in ours.
Hosting and care
- Sites are hosted on Cloudflare's free tier unless agreed otherwise. We'll tell you if that changes.
- An optional care plan covers monthly checks and small updates as described in its quote. It can be cancelled at any time with a month's notice.
SEO
- Search rankings are decided by Google. We do not and cannot guarantee a position, traffic figure or number of enquiries.
- We do guarantee that the work we quote is done as described and reported on honestly.
Your responsibilities
- You confirm you have the right to use the content, photos and brand assets you give us.
- You're responsible for the accuracy of the business information on your site and for keeping your own logins secure.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the work in question. Nothing here excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Questions: [email protected]. This version: 24 October 2026.
